The Skin + Tonic Story
I’m so happy you’re here.

Skin + Tonic began with a very personal journey.
As an actor, I became increasingly interested in skincare and the role it plays in how we see ourselves and present ourselves to the world. Working in film meant not only learning acting techniques, but also makeup, skin prep, and what it takes to feel confident in front of a camera - and “How long is this makeup gonna last?!”. I also have a facial skin condition that results in a monthly battle with red, itchy patches on my face that, unfortunately, never photograph well. I wanted to learn everything I could to manage it.
This curiosity led me to enter the esthetics program at Surry Community College. Initially, I was only interested in expanding my knowledge for my own skin. But along the way, something unexpected happened: I fell in love with the work itself.
I discovered that esthetics was about so much more than me using a product. It’s about helping other people, instilling confidence, and providing an escape for people who need a break. It’s about tailoring services to benefit each person and their individual concerns - NOT using a cookie cutter routine for everyone.
I loved learning the science behind the skin, how treatments work, and helping people discover what their skin actually needs. I especially fell in love with the facials- the massage is my favorite part of a facial. The quiet, the opportunity to slow down, and the way I can help a client leave feeling a little lighter than when they arrived.
My background in nursing has also shaped the way I think about care. I believe people deserve to feel heard, respected, and comfortable asking questions. You don’t have to have skin concerns to deserve a little care for yourself either.
I believe in bringing science and holistic care together: using evidence-informed skincare and thoughtful treatments while recognizing that our skin is part of a bigger picture. It’s about understanding your individual needs, respecting your skin’s natural functions, and making room for the connection between skin health, confidence, and overall wellness.
Here, skincare isn’t about fixing everything you think is wrong with yourself. It’s about making your skin healthy and caring for it intentionally.
Whether you are looking for help with specific skin concerns, hoping to build a routine, or simply craving an hour to slow down and exhale…
